Vera Bradley classic raises $ 1 Million for research on Cancer of the breast - MarketWatch (press release)

19th-Vera Bradley Classic Golf & Tennis Tournament Raises $1 001 145. The four-day event, held in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is amateur golf and tennis charity event more women in the nation. Close to 600 participants and 300 volunteers met for fun and to raise funds for the cause; women of 11 States participated.


Funds to support research on cancer of the breast to the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis, a classified national cancer centre. This brings the Vera Bradley Foundation to give to nearly 16 million dollars to the total of the Breast Cancer.


"Approximately $60,000 raised the first Vera Bradley classic, almost 20 years ago, and we were very pleased," said Barbara Bradley Baekgaard, Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer co-founder. "To raise more than 1 million for the cause this year based on our hope that healing is at hand."


Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center welcomes 22 laboratories and researchers University-large 36 85 different projects with a common goal: end breast cancer.
